Vfx house Coffee & TV is moving from its Kingly Street studio to a larger new home overlooking Carnaby Street. The studio move also marks the launch of Coffee & TV’s new Grading Facility, which will be headed up by colourist Dan Moran.

The new studio is 2000sq ft compared to its original 800sq ft home.

Managing Director, Derek Moore said: “This has been the result of the team's huge efforts, dedication and amazing talent since we started three years ago. The new building will be fully 4K-ready; have dedicated suites for our Flames and Colour Grading, and a brilliant outside terrace for our clients to enjoy when the weather warms up! I can't wait to show everyone around.”

Colourist Dan Moran joins Coffee & TV from Smoke & Mirrors. He has worked with  leading directors including Joseph Kahn, Anton Corbijn, Director X and Mert & Marcus. For his work in commercials he picked up three nominations for ‘Best Colour Grading’ at the Kinsale Sharks 2015, and has graded 2 UK MVA winning music promos.

Dan Moran said: “"We are going to be running 8 GPU DaVinci Resolve system to allow us to take on the challenges of 4K and HDR grading effortlessly. Considering you can work at HD with one GPU I can safely say we can handle all current raw camera formats and even some that haven't been released yet in real time. This allows us to spend our grading session focusing on the creative and making our footage look beautiful using every tool possible rather than worrying about transcoding or caching media. At this level the only limitation on what is possible in the grade is what the director and cinematographer can dream up!"
