Clear Cut has appointed Emmy-award winning designer Hazel Baird as acting head of design, film & television.

In 2012 Baird was art director for the documentary World War II from Space, directed by Simon George, a project which won her an Emmy for outstanding graphic design and art direction, as well as an RTS Craft Award.

Baird has produced graphics, title design and promos for a wide variety of consultancies, production companies and design studios including Nickelodeon, Red Bee Media, Jump, MTV, Prime Focus, ITV Creative, BBC, Channel 4 and Sony Computer Entertainment.

Clear Cut’s new MD Max McGonigal said: “I’m thrilled that Hazel has joined us. She has a wealth of experience and previously won an Emmy and RTS award for her TV  and Gaming graphic content.”

Baird is known as a motion designer/director with a strong and varied visual style.

She originally studied graphic design but progressed to motion design early on in her career, working on the Channel 4's flag ship breakfast show The Big Breakfast at Planet 24 and Princess Productions’ Rise.
