Clear Cut Pictures managing director Scott Holmgren is to leave the business at the end of the month.

Holmgren, who joined Clear Cut with a brief to expand the facility's West End operation in August 2012, has not ruled out a return to post production but will work with his wife on a new e-commerce business in the immediate future.

Clear Cut CEO Horacio Queiro said: “Scott is leaving us to work on an internet start-up he has developed with his wife about e-commerce, and we wish him good luck with his new venture and are grateful to him for his two years of stewardship.”

Queiro has already begun the search for a new MD to develop the business, in particular its recently acquired Bloomsbury site, the group's second West End location in a Grade II listed building just off Bedford Square where an additional 22 edit suites will be housed.

“We are very positive about our position now with three sites connected by dark fibre and our new operation in Bloomsbury Street," said Queiro.

"Together with our site in Newman Street and W14 can offer up to 70 cutting rooms, 9 theatres, 3 grades, 8 onlines and production can work seamlessly with media in one site, sound in another and picture in the third to their convenience.”

“Having created the right infrastructure, our search is now on for a new MD that can continue our growth curve and help us create a national facility of the future, an excellent job for the right person with the energy, knowledge, skill, charm, contacts and dedication to take us forward to our next stage.”

The departing Holmgren previously ran Molinare as technical director for three years and then chief operating officer.
