Peter Smith, ceo of Cineflix Studios, is stepping down as Cineflix scales back its scripted operation.

Cineflix Media is focusing on growing its unscripted programming in the UK, Canadian and American markets.

Most of its scripted activities will be channeled through its joint venture company, Buccaneer Media, which has a range of scripted and unscripted projects in the pipeline with broadcasters in the UK, Canada and the US. Alongside this, Cineflix Studios will continue to work on a number of projects already in development.

Cineflix has also made four promotions in its North American unscripted division.

Charles Tremayne, currently evp, has been promoted to president, production, and will continue to oversee all unscripted production in Canada and the US, reporting into Cineflix Media co-founder and co-ceo Glen Salzman.

Cineflix Media has also begun a search for a creative director for Canada and the US, reporting to Salzman. This follows the decision by Jodi Flynn, currently an evp, programming, to leave Cineflix later this month to start her own production company.  (After leaving, Flynn will continue to act as a co-executive producer on a number of Cineflix pilots that are currently in production for US networks.)

Cineflix Media has promoted Kim Bondi to eve, production, reporting to Charles Tremayne.  At the same time, Sherri Rufh becomes svp, production and administration, and Lynn Van Rooyen becomes svp, post production.

The company has recently greenly a number of new shows, including pilots for TLC, A&E and BIO, as well as recommissions for some of Cineflix Productions’ brands including Food Factory (Food Network Canada), American Pickers (History US), Murder in Paradise and Karma's A B*tch! (Investigation Discovery), and Mayday: Air Crash Investigation (Discovery Canada and National Geographic International).
