Chocolate Media wins doc orders from Sky1 and C5

Chocolate Media has won two new documentary series orders – Braking Badly for Sky1 and The Midland for Channel 5.

Sky 1’s Braking Badly (W/T) is an 8x30’ documentary series which sees parents teach their children to drive.

The driving format is used as a peg to explore the highs and lows of family bonding.

For most of the participants it will be the first time in years they have spent so much time together in a confined space and with cameras following their every move.
In just one week of lessons, the parents will teach their children everything they know about driving and quickly, because at the end of the week their son or daughter is going to take their actual driving test.

Commissioned by Sky 1’s Siobhan Mulholland, the series will be executive produced by Chocolate Media’s Alan Brown and series produced by Patricia O’Leary. The show represents Sky 1’s investment in the 8pm slot.

Meanwhile, The Midland (WT) is a four-part documentary for Channel 5 which follows the ups and downs of Manchester’s most iconic hotel through the eyes of its staff.

Commissioned by Channel 5’s Emma Westcott, the series will be also be executive produced by Alan Brown.
