NBCUniversal-owned drama indie, Carnival Films has rejigged its top team with Gareth Neame becoming Executive Chairman.

 

In his new role as Executive Chairman, Neame will “continue to lead Carnival’s production pipeline and creative vision within the NBCUniversal International Studios division.” David O’Donoghue and Nigel Marchant will take on day-to-day leadership responsibilities as Joint Managing Directors, with Aliboo Bradbury becoming Commercial Director.

 

Acting as Managing Director since 2004, Neame has been the creative driving force behind the company’s biggest hits including Downton Abbey and current series such as The Last Kingdom, Stan Lee’s Lucky Man and Jamestown, together with mini-series like The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies and Any Human Heart.

  

David O’Donoghue has been Carnival’s Chief Operating Officer since 2012, having previously held business affairs positions at Carnival and NBCUniversal International Studios.  

 

Nigel Marchant joined Carnival Films in 2011and has executive produced shows including The Last Kingdom, Dracula, Jamestown as well as Downton Abbey. Prior to Carnival, Marchant produced shows including The Philanthropist, The Suspicions of Mr Whicher and Fanny Hill, and worked on movies including Charlie Wilson’s War, Rendition and Sex and the City.

 

As part of the new structure, Aliboo Bradbury becomes Commercial Director.  Bradbury joined Carnival in 2006 as Head of Business Affairs.

 

Neame, O’Donoghue and Marchant will work closely with the rest of the Carnival management team, led by Executive Producer Richard Fell, Head of Production Charlotte Ashby, Head of Development Joanna Strevens, Commercial Director Aliboo Bradbury and Executive Producer Jessica Pope who joined Carnival from BBC Studios in 2017.
