The launch of a new Bollywood-focused post house in Manchester, as part of a £13m investment in the UK by Indian production outfit Vistaar, has been announced. The plan for the new facility was revealed during a visit to a Mumbai film set yesterday by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg (pictured).
The Manchester-based post house will be used for editing Bollywood films shot in the UK. Beyond that, no further information is currently available about the facility.
The majority of the £13m investment announced by Vistaar, which includes the cost of its planned facility, is for filming a number of its productions in the UK, with £3.9m for a production called Veda and another £7.2m for the production Guru Dutt, which is to be partially made in the UK.
“I hope Indian producers will follow their counterparts in the US and take advantage of the UK’s facilities, expertise and glorious locations to create the next Indian Star Wars or Game of Thrones,” says Clegg.
