The Undateables indie betty has hired Damian Pitman to head up its development team.

Pitman, currently head of development at Optomen, will work closely with betty’s joint managing director Neil Smith to secure new business and is tasked with expanding the company’s features and factual slate.
 
He has recently helped develop Optomen’s forthcoming prime-time series The Miracle for ITV and Employ Me for BBC Two.
 
Pitman previously worked at Blast! Films where he developed the successful Web of Lies format for Discovery ID and RDF where he created Storage: Locked & Loaded for Channel 5. He also developed Brook Lapping’s The Hunt for Bin Laden (ITV), Murdoch (ITV) and Louboutin: The World’s Most Luxurious Shoes (Channel 4), Wall to Wall Television’s Sicily Unpacked and BBC in-house’s Wonders of the Solar System for BBC Two.
