beActive's interactive drama Beat Girl will be the first scripted series on new social network website Pinterest.
The series follows beActive's multiplatform show Sofia's Diary which ran on social networking site Bebo.

Beat Girl, the web series, follows 21-year-old Heather’s journey through music. After the death of her pianist mother, Heather’s only option is to move in with her estranged father and half-brother. She turns to music and DJing to help her make some sense out of life. Heather is determined to continue her mother’s legacy and decides to audition for a place at a prestigious music school.
Through photos, images, short video clips updated daily on, fans can get small snippets of content and follow Heather’s journey, her problems, fights and her struggles.

The web series was created to exploit the potential of Pinterest (now the third most popular social network in the world) and its photo sharing capabilities and bring back the popularity of the Photonovels of the 60’s and the 70’s. Heather's thoughts, wishes, goals and obstacles on her life and the relationships with friends and family are illustrated through images and photos that fans can Pin and share with each other.
Targeted at 18-35 year old women, Beat Girl, the web series is inspired by the novel Beat Girl by Jasmina Kallay. Content Media holds the international online and broadcast distribution rights.
beActive’s co-founder and ceo Nuno Bernardo said, “The tools and functionalities introduced by Pinterest allowed us to release the content the way we envisioned. As a world’s first we expected that in the future more and more stories will be told on this network using photos and still images”.
