Boutique Soho post production studio Realise has hired The Mill’s 3D creative director Jordi Bares to become deputy creative director.
At the Mill, where Bares worked for a decade as a vfx supervisor and headed the computer graphics department, he earned credits on some famous commercials and music videos for brands such as Adidas, Citroen, Guinness, Heineken, Levis, LG and Sony.

An early adopter of artificial intelligence software Massive, Bares used the technique to create the huge crowds central to well-known campaigns such as Frank Budgen’s Mountain for PlayStation and Guy Ritchie’s Next Level for Nike.
According to Bares, he is joining Realise at an important time, where innovations in lighting, texturing and rendering are ushering in a whole new ear for post production. “With their creativity and bespoke approach to projects, I look forward to delivering the full potential of these techniques with the Realise team,” said Bares.
A qualified architect, Bares has worked as a software engineer and 2D animator in Barcelona before joining The Mill in 2002.
Realise is an award-winning full service post production studio which takes ideas from inception through to delivery, including storyboard development, production design, vfx animation to compositing and grading.
The boutique roster of high profile clients span commercials, TV, film, computer games and fine art. Recent work includes Audi, BMW and Mercedes commercials, the creation of a striking marble horse for the Chemical Brothers and large set pieces for features such as Prince of Persia, Pixar’s John Carter and Sky’s Treasure Island.
