Leopardrama, the drama division of  super-indie Argonon, has been commissioned to make Eve, a children’s drama series for CBBC.

The adventure series is the group’s first children’s drama commission and has been ordered by CBBC indie drama commissioner Cheryl Taylor.
Written by Emma Reeves, Eve has been co-created with Leopardrama’s David Chikwe, and is being series produced by Jez Swimer. The drama follows the adventures of Eve, a female sentient robot, living with a family in suburbia and trying to make sense of human life as a teenager.
Emma Reeves has worked for the BBC since 2001 and is best known for Tracy Beaker Returns, The Dumping Ground and Young Dracula. Development producer David Chikwe’s credits include Lionsgate’s The Holding and BBC series Missing. Jez Swimer, head of development at Leopardrama, has developed and edited dramas including Five Days, The 39 Steps and Brief Encounters.
Eve will be executive produced by Sue Nott for CBBC, and by Ruth Caleb, Joey Attawia and James Burstall (Argonon ceo) for Leopardrama.
Eve follows Leopardrama’s recent success with Vincent Regan thriller The Holding and An Englishman in New York.

On Leopardrama’s development slate projects include feature film adaption of Richard McCann’s novel Mother of Sorrows, written and directed by Terence Davies and the BFI-funded feature film of the life of entertainer Danny La Rue. Argonon, as a group, has experience in children’s TV with Leopard Films’ Trade Your Way to the USA which aired its fourth series on the CBBC channel in April 2013.
Ahead of Mipcom, Eve has already attracted interest from a number of international broadcasters.
CBBC executive producer Sue Nott said: "Eve's attempts to discover the essence of being human will resonate with every child trying to find their place in the world."
The programme is currently scripting and will be filmed in the summer of 2014. Further announcements, including cast, to follow.
