Amazon has secured the exclusive rights to show the US Open Grand Slam tournament in the UK and Ireland on Amazon Prime Video.

The five year deal struck with the U.S. Tennis Association kicks off with the 2018 tournament that runs from 27th August until 9th September at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Amazon Prime Video users in the U.K. and Ireland will get live and on demand access to the US Open and will now also be able watch live and on-demand content covering the ATP’s Queen’s Club Championships and Eastbourne International.

“We are proud to partner with the United States Tennis Association to add the US Open to the growing portfolio of sports available on Prime Video,” said Alex Green, managing director of Prime Video’s European sport channels. “This prestigious event, along with the other exciting tennis coming this year and next, makes Prime Video a destination for tennis fans in the UK and Ireland.”

Eurosport, owned by Discovery, retains the rights to broadcast the US Open in the rest of Europe.
