All3Media has acquired drama production company New Pictures, the indie behind C4’s Indian Summers and BBC1’s The Missing.

New Pictures was established by Charlie Pattinson, Elaine Pyke, Willow Grylls and Richard Nelson.
Pattinson was previously the founder of drama outfit Company Pictures, which is also part of the All3Media production stable.

New Pictures is in production of second series of The Missing (BBC One and Starz) and Indian Summers (Channel 4 and WGBH). Two new thriller series, Rellik and Requiem, have also been commissioned for production for BBC One in 2016/17.

All3Media has pushed strongly into drama since being acquired by Discovery and Liberty Global in 2014. Last year it bought Neal Street Productions, the maker of Penny Dreadful, and invested in Seven Stories, a new drama indie launched by Anand Tucker and Sharon Maguire.

Jane Turton, CEO of All3Media said: “I am absolutely delighted to be working with Charlie, Elaine, WiIllow and Richard as they develop and grow their slate of programmes through New Pictures.  They are a fantastic team with a phenomenal track record and very exciting plans for the business.”

Pattinson added “ This is a very exciting new phase for New Pictures.  We have a long and successful history with All3 Media, Jane Turton and her team and we are looking forward to working together even more closely to grow our slate both in the UK and internationally.”
