A masterclass in abstract stop-motion News
Jake Bickerton
17 August 2011
German animator/director/video artist Max Hattler's abstract stop-motion work Aanaatt, which is "100% digital-effects free" and was widely lauded when screened at a variety of festivals three years ago, has finally been put online.
The full 4m45s HD version, which was previously only available as a one-minute teaser, is below, and is well worth a look. It centres on dozens of different mostly non-identifiable objects moving around in an apparently random fashion in an alien looking environment, which all sounds a bit of a mess but in reality is incredibly compelling and truly fascinating to watch.
