Ross Kemp will be speaking at this year’s Televisual Factual Festival. The documentary maker, together with producer Jamie Welham, will give a masterclass, revealing the production stories behind his toughest moments while filming in the field.

Kemp is part of a line-up of fifty speakers at the Festival, which will be held at BAFTA on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th November. Panelists across 14 sessions will include senior commissioners from all the factual genres and the key channels for UK-based producers of factual TV.

Headline speakers at the event include Patrick Holland, new editor at BBC Two, Sue Murphy recently given the new role of head of factual entertainment at ITV, Marjorie Kaplan, president of content at Discovery Networks International and Damian Kavanagh, helming BBC Three, the first channel in the world to switch to online.

Factual continues to grow as a genre and the Festival will look at the different opportunities for producers.

Sessions across the two days will cover demand from new online broadcasters, the possibilities of branded content and how UK producers are tackling the US market in 2016. Debate will take in the impact of a sea-change in the way people view and the future of Virtual Reality.

There will be inspiration from development gurus to get your next ideas into the best shape for developing and pitching. And former Fox TV executive Simon Andreae, now heading up his own UK indie Naked Entertainment, will give a formats masterclass.

This year will see the Festival join together with Directors UK to produce a session featuring brilliant directors shedding light on their work on factual entertainment shows.

The Festival, now in its eleventh year, is a focal point for gathering inspiration and business know-how.
