 UNIT hires Glassworks' Mark Harris as VFX Supervisor

UNIT Studios has hired Mark Harris as VFX Supervisor.

 

Harris joins after spending three and a half years at Glassworks London where he was Lead Nuke / VFX Supervisor. Before that he spent five years at Kojo Australia where he was VFX Supervisor and Senior Nuke Compositor working across the Australian and UK markets across advertising, tv and film projects.

 

His most recent longform creative highlights include working on the Netflix double Emmy award winning Black Mirror, seasons 3 / 4 / 5. He was the Sequence Lead working closely with another UNIT TV & Film recent hire Duncan Cook.

 

The Black Mirror ‘Bandersnatch’ interactive episode saw him take on the role of Sequence Lead alongside Producer Duncan Cook and Director David Slade. He also teamed up with Cook again on Black Mirror ‘Black Museum’ as VFX Supervisor working with Director Colm McCarthy and Writer Charlie Brooker.

 

A few of his many film highlights include: ‘The Kid Who Would Be King’ Directed by Joe Cornish, ‘The Babadook’ Directed by Jennifer Kent and ‘Wolf Creek 2’ Directed by Greg McLean - across which he was Compositing and CG Leads respectively.

 

His commercial credits include commercials for Heineken ‘Formula E’ working with Director Erik Van Wyk and ‘Cheesestrings’ by Director Greg Barth. 

 

He also worked on the Music Videos for Billie Eilish’s ‘Hostage’ by Director Henry Schofield and Young Fathers ‘Toy’ Directed by Salomon Ligthelm. 

 

Alongside all his film and commercials VFX work, he runs FILM.ART which is his own film-inspired art site and is also part of the collective known as Mr Benn which is a film and tv-centric pool of creatives showing their ‘other’ art.
